Bush Regeneration - Sat 04 April 9am – 12pm

Lobster Beach, Bouddi National Park

Bouddi National Park protects coastal heaths, moors and beaches once typical of the greater Sydney region. However the Spotted Gum forest of Lobster Beach is being invaded by weeds: come help us protect this beautiful area from further devastation. Volunteers to this site will play a significant role in restoring and enhancing the biodiversity of the Bouddi Peninsula.

Colo Colossus- 11-17 April 2009

Capertee to Culoul

7 days starting Easter Sat. Wilderness walkers wanted! This is the inaugural event of a biannual exercise aimed at keeping willows and other serious weeds out of the Capertee and Wolgan Rivers, and the upper part of the Colo.

This event will start near Glen Davis and finish on the Culoul Range. There is no track, and participants can expect lots of wading and rock-hopping. Consequently, experience in multi-day wilderness trips is essential, as is an interest in conservation-though prior experience in bush regeneration techniques is not essential.

Subject to hoped-for funding, transport may be provided to the start and from the finish. Join in this wonderful journey through the magnificent gorges!

Biodiversity Survey - 17-20 April 2009

Marramarra National Park, Hawkesbury River

The second survey this autumn will take place on the southern side of the Hawkesbury River, 50km north west of Sydney. Currently there is no fauna data available on the park and the biodiversity may have changed since a wild fire burnt the whole park in 2002. All the data collected will assist in updating the previous management plan which is now 10 years old. This survey is being supported by the Departmant of Environment and Climate Change.

Come and discover local native species in your area. Work with experts using scientific methods. No experience required, tools and training provided.

Bush Regeneration - Sat 28, 09.00-12.30
Happy Valley, La Perouse, Botany Bay National Park

This beautiful oasis needs your help! Join a group of dedicated volunteers for a fun morning helping to preserve this unique coastal area. The Botany Bay NP is home to over 350 plant species and shelters a remnant of the vegetation once typical along the Sydney coast. However the park's location, surrounded by high-density development, makes it particularly vulnerable to weeds.
