31 October-6 November: COLO COLOSSUS

Bush regeneration - Weekend 5-6 September: Sycamore Weedbusting Weekend

21-22 November: Colo River at Pinchgut Creek

Colo Colossus 31 October-6 November

Medium to Hard

Following on from the success of the first Colo Colossus in April, this second 7-day Colossus will start on the Wolgan River near Newnes, proceed down into the Colo River and finish on the Culoul Range. Magnificent scenery, with all logistics and costs taken care of. However, boulder scrambling and deep wading is involved, so participants must be fit and experienced off-track walkers. Participants will be involved in the treatment of cape ivy, tree of heaven and willows (if any) along the way. On-site training will be provided, but preference may be given to those willing to be involved in glyphosate herbicide spraying. Limit 12.

Bush regeneration - Weekend 5-6 September - Sycamore Weedbusting Weekend

Come along and do some weed busting on the Sycamore infestation at Jenolan Caves. With almost 50 ha to treat there are plenty of Sycamores to go around! A good cause, good company, free accommodation, food, spotlighting and a complementary cave tour makes for a memorable and worthwhile weekend.

Colo River at Pinchgut Creek

Medium to Hard

An overnight walk and lilo trip for the further control of a some cape ivy and tree of heaven. Beautiful camping spot on a beach. The walk in is steep and rugged and suitable only for experienced off-track walkers. Depending on the weather and inclination, the return on Sunday will be by the same route, or by liloing down the river to Canoe Creek and climbing out via the track. Limit: 8.
